Sky-High

Two weeks of school to go. I am on a countdown, same as two of my teenage girls. 9 DAYS TO GO...
I am exhausted from all that knowledge, from studying and home works and projects almost as I was doing it. Poor kids, they can't wait to get all those textbooks away, and relaxxx. TWO MORE WEEKS...
This is a pile of my older girl's textbooks- 1.grade in highschool, from literature, and languages (eng, ger, latin), through geography, history, physics, chem, biology, math, IT, to art, music and gym and... (16 all together)

Being a teacher is not an easy job, but I do salute you for the profession you have chosen. These kids are lucky to have you educating their brains for a bright, meaningful and enriching future.My mom was a nurse and she was my Florence Nightingale. If you ended up in a hospital she was the nurse you wanted by your bedside. Your photo reminds me of all the homework I used to have as a kid. Those were the days! :>)

@nydelignorsk, I am a bit sorry for the misunderstanding- didn't write ma post well. I am not a teacher, I was refering to my own kids...BUT, I do agree with you about teacher profession, similar to nurse. It is not a job- it is a call, and I do admire them, together with few more professions... Thank you for comment- I am editing my post a bit...

@dorsethelen, Thanks for commenting Helen, How long are your summer hollidays? Our lasts unti first monday in September... (almost 3 months this year- I think it is a record, but they don't get a lot of breaks through the year)

Love the way you've presented this huge pile of books. Much as I love books, I'm glad you and your kids will have a break from them, and that any reading which happens over the vacation will involve that which they want to read, rather than that which they have to (though the two can overlap, of course).

Čini mi se da svaku reformu školstva započinjemo da bismo đake odteretili, a svaka završi sa još više gradiva i predmeta pa pretpostavljam da će tako biti i ovaj put..

@vesna0210, ah Vesna, moje zanimanje je jako lijepo: dipl inz kemijei još ponešto nakon toga. Al već neko vrijeme ne radim u struci i trenutno sam na burzi, eto tako u trendu sam :) pa imam vremena fotkat.... A vi?

Meni je kriza donijela trajnu nezaposlenost, otišla sam u prijevremenu mirovinu. Ja sam nakon gimnazije završila debatnu stenografiju i to sam radila do rata, a kasnije sam morala raditi neke druge kancelarijske poslove. Sad uživam sa 1770 kn penzije.
