I was reading a tutorial yesterday and the author mentioned freelensing in passing. I'd never heard of it, so I looked it up and found some basic instructions. Basically, it's a hack for creating a tilt-shift effect by removing your lens from your camera and holding it up close and tilting it to place the focus where you want it. Much more challenging than it sounds! This was my first attempt--nothing terribly remarkable, but it was fun to try. I'm going to try and practice this technique every so often and see if I can produce better results (I think shooting in brighter light would have helped a lot). Have any of you tried this? Would love to hear your tips!
