At noon it was calm and 62*F (16*C) and at 2:00 it is 32*F (0*C) with a wind chill of 18* (-7*). This is the wind sock I see over my fence. They say there is nothing but a barbed wire fence between the North Pole and the Texas Panhandle, and sometimes I believe it. I know this isn't cold compared to a lot of you, but it's amazing to me that it can drop 30* in a couple of hours!
@kerfree I think about all of you that live in the north and have such brutal winters. I just don't know how you endure it!! Where I live it can be 70* one day and then have a blizzard the next day. Then the snow melts in a few days instead of sticking around all winter. You are tough!!! And I sure do enjoy all those beautiful snow and ice pictures from up there!
Our weather patterns are much slower changing - but then we tend to get just the tail end of whatever system you've experienced. I love a cold, crisp winter, but such unpredictability? That must be hard.
