My front garden by corymbia

My front garden

I love the way the Australian native plants in my front yard spill together and tumble over the retaining wall - flowering gums and prostrate Grevilleas and Banksias all muddle together and provide a feast for insects and birds.
I am not a huge fan of formal gardens. I can appreciate them, but I much prefer a garden that has a sense of being wild and rambling over ordered and neat.
We have old fence posts and logs pulled from the bottom of the farm's dam, rocks and other hidey-holes for lizards and frogs (and snakes).
The kids love drinking the nectar out of that golden cascade of grevillea flowers ... just gotta beat the birds to it ;)
I like all those plants and have them mingle and match in borders! As long as there are no snakes! But they are not here in NZ!
