The Dollhouse by dyanstevens

The Dollhouse

... or my dining room.

We spent the day either getting ready for a synchronized swimming meet, being at the meet, or recovering from the meet. (You know how a synchronized swimmer's hair is shiny? That is Knox gelatin. Since this is our first year, and the first meet we had to put it in...and later get it out, it was quite the learning experience.) Anyway, I mentioned a couple of days ago that I've been reading my camera's manual. Found a tilt-shift setting. I've loved looking at the images on here that use this effect either in camera or post processing. This one was done in camera, the morning before our craziness started.
Wow, it looks amazing! I was ready to be jealous of this cool little dollhouse, haha. The colors and textures really sell it. I never would've guessed it was tilt shift.

This turned out magnificently. I think I have tilt shift on my Camera oh, oh of course I do because it's the same as yours. Maybe I'll have to use it once. Good to know about the hair too I can't imagine getting it in your hair to stay and then trying to get it out again!

@grammyn If you don't have the manual anymore... http://gdlp01.c-wss.com/gds/0/0300005730/01/pssx40hs-cug-c-en-web.pdf The "Creative filters" starts on pg 64 with the tilt shift on pg 65. :)

This is a really fascinating shot - love that effect. I had noticed that setting on my old pocket PowerShot but never used it to see what it would do - I love the way this turned out. Of course your colors are wonderful in the dining room and that sure adds to it. I'll have to see if the SX50 has the tilt shift - manual is in my drawer somewhere. Interesting about the gelatin - imagine fun to get out! By the way, have you ever run across a Greg Tucker in your swim meets - he's in his maybe early 60's - related and originally from Ozark. Fav
