Natural and human

This one ton boulder resting at the entrance to a marina in Marsaxlokk once had a plaque on it commemorating in all probability the opening of the place. I guess the hole was drilled to carry it to this place. What intrigued me were the root like grooves on the surface. Do not know how they were made. I liked the colour and texture but above all how the man-made hole contrasts with the rest of the lines and scratches. I like it as an abstract.
Interesting. Colour and texture is lovely

Intriguing. Makes a nice abstract with a sense of mystery.

Iā€™m glad that the flashback gave you this one. I had not seen it before. I agree the man-made hole makes a wonderful abstract contrast to the natural lines of the stone. Beautiful!

Hello Lili,
I saw were you posted this on Flashback Friday and what came to my mind before I read your description was that it was a photo of the surface of Mars and the black dot was the shadow of the craft that was taking the photo. The details of the rock it interesting.
