Shot yesterday at Chadwick Lakes. On my way up the valley at Wied Qlejgħa came across a small building almost in the middle of nowhere, probably originally used to store farming tools, and this statuette in a corner surrounded by bougainvillea. The owners must have recycled the statuette to decorate a corner of their building. It seems that something draws us to beauty.
The Qlejgħa Valley was named Chadwick Lakes after Sir Osbert Chadwick who in 1883 was charged with surveying Malta's water system and propose a more efficient water management system for the island. His first task was to gauge the amount of water in this valley to preserve fresh water. Chadwick proposed the building of dams along the valley.
