Well I was quite stuck today since the plant I had in mind had had a major haircut and was now a mass of flower-less twigs!... hm. Luck was at hand, we had a drink (hic) with friends who have a huge, marvellous amethyst geode, and taking a photo in macro produced this. I was pleased as a little blue was picked up from somewhere which seemed to go with the rainbow flow.
I've really enjoyed doing this rainbow week - it's challenged me to think very differently about the sort of shots I've taken and I think I would do it again. This week's shots have all been natural materials of some sort - who knows what another week would inspire?!
Thank you so much for your encouraging views and comments on all my little shots - you're all super and I wish you a wonderful coming week with happy shots throughout. :)
WOW. My favorite and my birthstone. While we were at the museum yesterday we found quite a few of these. This is a lovely one. Your thumbnails for the week make a gorgeous rainbow across the screen. Well done.
I was wishing I had something like this at my disposal! But it works much better for your rainbow than mine!! Great job on the whole spectrum! Now on to the numbers.
Phil, this is the third "rainbow" I've viewed in my thread tonight. And I am mostly just SO jealous not to have gotten in on the start of this. I really have to watch these darn challenges more closely! Amazing view of your calendar. . . congrats!
Great capture of the shiny amethyst! Your rainbow is stunning - well done! :) I'm going to have another go at one later in the year too :) Good luck with numbers next!
Ooooh!!! Pretty!!! Have you ever tried to bust one of them open? It takes over 4 hours with a hammer and you have to have several helping hands because your arms get tired! The crystals inside are absolutely lovely. This is a great shot of the inside of what on the outside looks like just a rock. Great job!
