Felt a deep urge to go for a walk and get a shot of sunlight over water today. Odd, but then it was a day's holiday and nobody to please but me so I went for it.
I got to Grafham Water (a reservoir over in Cambridgeshire) just as it started to cloud over so I was so pleased to get a couple of sparkly shots. This was my favourite, the fisherman looked as relaxed as I felt!
Walked a few miles up and down, exchanged nods with passers-by, considered the benefits of getting a dog, wondered if I could get my cats to walk to heel, and after a couple of hours of bracing fresh air came home and realised I was absolutely frozen! But it was worth it. Also discovered that she who shuns the path and chooses her own route gets very wet and muddy shoes!
I hope you all had a peaceful and joyful Easter however and wherever around the world you spent it.
So chuffed by your visits and kind comments on the little bird, he was indeed a diddy chap and very alert. He was quaffing away at the seeds stopped to look around every few seconds, which is how I managed to get a shot at all! Thank you - you're all super marvellous and very gorgeous too!
Now this is another place I would and could go (if I were there) to try and find some peace from the chaos in my head. I am wowed by this shot. It's so beautiful and serene and I love the sun shining off the surface. Great job, Phil. Gonna fave it so I can keep going back to this when I can't get to my mountain.
I have been to Grafham Water, its not too far from us, I cycled around it a few times (back in the day). I would urge you to get a dog, I was dog-less for years and now I have my rescued lurcher walking is my most favourite pastime ever! I love the beautiful blue hues in this picture and I can empathise with feeling cold, March has never been so freezing!
