I really must invite people around more often... not only do I thoroughly enjoy their company - but if they buy me such lovely flowers it can keep my project busy for days! I had these by the lamp on my desk and in the evening I thought they looked lovely. I think of them as spring flowers but have decided that irises are lovely in autumn too.

I adore irises...and lavender! Like you, I was delighted to trade dog-sitting for the beautiful bouquet I was given in thanks! I laughed when you said they could keep your project busy for days...I also adore having the nearness of a vase of flowers to photograph!
