Don't let the Mediterranean blue sky fool you, it was freezing! But I've noticed that cold days are sometimes better for seeing further, so I decided to head to my favourite bit of Paris - Montmartre. Located at the highest point in Paris, Le Sacre-Coeur is a relatively modern basilica, having been completed in 1914. It is made of stone which exudes calcite, and therefore it will always remain white.
Behind the basilica is the famous artists quarter, where you can buy art work on the streets and have your portrait drawn (if you have enough money to let them!) - Lucy
The basilica is certainly a stunning piece of architecture. It can get cold and windy up there on the front though. Looks like crowds everywhere as always.
Love to read you being and adventures in Paris
