This week the weather has been very varied - rain, sunshine and frost. On Tuesday morning I went for a walk on Clifton Ings, an area of riverside grassland which is deliberately flooded when the river threatens to flood York city centre. (As some of you will have seen in my solo project last year - http://365project.org/if1/365/2012-11-29).
It was a beautiful sunny morning, but there had been an overnight frost, and in areas of shade the frost had persisted.
I love the way the frost emphasised the pattern of veins in these leaves, but as you can see, the sun is beginning to encroach, and it would only be a short time before the ice crystals disappeared.
fabulous shot! I'm hearing several people here on 365 living in England talking of how cold it has suddenly gone this week! This shot shows it very well!
Thank you Therese - it has quite suddenly got colder, but not too bad. It's actually been quite a late warm autumn this year, so we shouldn't complain too much!
Thank you Hazel. The deliberate flooding only reduces the flood height closer to the city by around 5 - 6 inches, but it certainly prevented disaster in 2000 when a flood came within 3 inches of overtopping the defences!
Thank you Padlock - I'm sure the winter weather will give us lots more photo opportunities!

Thank you Graham - it could have been worse, I was taking shots of Christmas lights in Doncaster a few days ago!
