Katharine and I have been away for the weekend visiting friends in north-east Derbyshire. We spent a couple of hours in Chesterfield during the journey, and took the oportunity to visit the Church of St Mary and All Saints.
There are several interesting and attractive stained glass windows in this church, and this shot shows a small section of one of them.
The window was installed in 1984 and was funded by the people of Chesterfield to commemorate the 750th anniversary of the church, and showing the lives, work and industry of Chesterfield people throughout that period. This section shows the arrival of steam power in the 19th century, with the development of railways, mining and factories.
Great shot of this nice stained glass window.
I`ve the age that a lot of this technicks where still in use and I did learn it on the school. Still love it as you can see how it works. Fav.
Now it is in musea.
Ian, as we haven't seen you here for some time, I hope you're both well and your daughters too. My best wishes to you both, appropriate to the circumstances..
@s4sayer Thank you Margo - it's a very long time since I last looked our project, so I missed your thoughtful comment. I've just started posting again, after 2 years, although probably not every day. I'm slowly trying to catch up with what everyone is posting.
