A swan with a cygnet on it's back, at Barnes Pond in south-west London. Barnes still has a village feel about it, and the pond at it's heart. I was surprised at the variety of birds on and around the pond, but to my grandaughter they were mainly 'ducks'!
I couldn't help thinking that the cygnet looked rather smug as its brothers and sisters had to swim behind.
As Shanne mentioned, there is a wetlands centre close to here, and at some point I would love to visit with my camera, but Natalya is only 17 months old, so rather young for visiting there. One day.....
@kchuk@vesna0210 Thank you both. When we were watching the swans it took me a while to realise the cygnet was there. It's a good job my camera has a powerful zoom to capture this!
