Spiders Web

Katharine and I had planned a Saturday walk along Castleton Rigg, but there was a late change of plan and we made our way further west to Westerdale Village.

On the way, walking along a narrow country lane I spotted this in the grass verge. I was impressed by the amount of water (from overnight rain) that the web could hold.

I don't think I've ever seen a web hold so many drops of water. It is a neat find and capture.

Thank you all for your comments and favs, which put this shot on the Popular Page.

I was surprised to see how many raindrops there were on one spiders web. I suspect it might have been due to very fine rain or mist gradually building up on the web, but I don't really know. I was impressed by the result!
