On the west side of Farndale, in the North York Moors, lies the isolated house known as Monket House, and across the road from it is the start of Monket Bank, a steep track rising past old quarry workings onto an ancient route, Rudland Rigg, which crosses the moors from north to south.
Monket Bank became seriously eroded a few years ago, and something of a challenge to travel along, but a major overhaul with new drainage has made a vast improvement to the surface. However it is still a really steep hill to walk up!
Thank you for the wonderful comments and favs.Ian will catch up reading them when he gets back home.
The North Yorkshire Moors are beautiful and I love the way Ian captures them. We have some lovely reminders of our time spent there.
