Still in the Museum Gardens, the railings between the gardens and the graveyard of St Olave's Church were decorated with an alphabet of illuminated letters.
The letters use a font called 'Grenette', inspired by the UK's last wood type manufacturer, DeLittle of York. They were based in Vine Street, off Bishopthorpe Road, and they sent carved letters all over the world.
The letters on display were each created by a different York design artist. The display was part of York Design Week.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
There are always interesting displays and events around the city - one of the benifits of living in a city where tourism forms a significant part of the local economy.
