Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
As you can imagine, we are quite impatient to go and see both the children, but with Covid-19 restrictions in place, it might be a while yet.
Lucy's husband is Nigerian, and in their tradition the newborn child recieves his name on the eighth day, which is today. There is a service this evening on zoom where it will all take place. I will post another comment on this shot tonight when the name will be revealed.
The zoom naming was a great success, with around 100 people from three continents taking part. It wouldn't have been possible for all those people to meet face to face.
The naming ceremony on Zoom was a great success, with people from three continents joining in. In Nigerian tradition, various friends and relatives were asked to give him a name, as well as the parents choice. The names chosen give an attribute that the chooser would like the child to have. There were about 24 names given. We chose the name 'Christian'. Only the first three names are registered on the birth certificate, and they are Asa Araoluwa Gabriel. Young Asa slept through most of the ceremony, but it has been recorded for him to see as he grows up.
