Taken from near Cod Beck, Sowerby, looking north-east towards the western edge of the North York Moors, with sunlight on the tree covered slopes. I haven’t been able to work out exactly where this is, but I think it is part of Boltby Forest.
To the east of Boltby Forest (not visible in this shot) is High Paradise Farm, to me a well named place with its magnificent views and heather moorland to the north. Also to the north (and again not visible) are the remains of a stone cross (Steeple Cross), one of the many intriguing and enigmatic carved stones on the North York Moors.
I'm really looking forward to exploring more of the North York Moors in 2022.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and fav, they are very much appreciated.
Sadly, we have seen little sun and lots of cloud in the last few days, which robs the landscape of much of its colour.

Thank you Bruni. What a shame we can't control the sun for our photos. You are quite right, more sunlight would have helped.
