After taking shots of the Christmas lights (posted yesterday), I had a choice of ways to walk home - through the housing estates I had walked through earlier, or along a path beside Rawcliffe Lake. So I chose the path beside the lake.
Part of the path beside the lake runs through a copse of trees, and it was there that I spotted this view.
There is a lot of concern about being out alone after dark, but despite the risks I enjoy being out then. The path around the lake has lighting, but in places it is a little eerie. It does however allow you to see the world in a very different way, and usually without anyone else around to spoil the peace and quiet.
Great leading line...You are brave to be out at night. Here in Seattle, we know longer have a fully-staffed police department so response time to emergency calls are longer.
beautiful avenue of trees all lit up at night with an excellent leading line
Back here in South Africa, we would not think of walking through this in the day alone, let alone at night. Hopefully, soon, things will change here and we will feel safe again
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
I can understand the reluctance of people to go out at night - the media report such terrible things - but I actually quite enjoy the peace and tranquility of a walk after dark.
I think I would have taken the road though...fav.
