Dandelion Seed Head by fishers

Dandelion Seed Head

The structure of a dandelion seed head is very impressive. This example gives a view of the structure with some of the seeds already dispersed, making the internal structure more visible.

Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.

There are vast numbers of dandelions to be seen this year. The No Mow May campaign, designed to help feed pollinators and encourage wild flower growth seems to have made an enormous impact this year. There are those who think gardens and grass verges look untidy as a result, but they seem to be outnumbered by those wanting to help nature.
