Hot birds

These honeyeaters found a way to keep cool in yesterday's 42 degree heat! I had to refill the bird bath by lunch time :)

Poor little buggars. We always have some cold water (cold as in we keep topping it up with ice blocks) out for the birds on very hot days. Its not unusual to see a bird have half a dozen drinks from it at a single go.
