When I arrived home the rainbow lorikeets had obviously taken up residence and had stripped all the apples off the tree. There are many apples on the ground and they are now enjoying them :)
What a wonderful capture...those are such beautiful birds. I do however love a good apple off picked fresh from the tree, so I might be a little upset over that :-)
@judithdeacon@irene111@dridsdale Thanks but don't worry about the loss of apples! The tree was over laden and I have been giving many away for weeks, as well as eating, cooking and freezing! I also picked heaps before I went away, knowing the birds would have a ball :) @gigiflower Good one Sam :) I didn't think to count them, but now I see 16!
What a scene you have returned to. A big fav.
Reminds me of when we lived in the UK. Newly married and as David was away on detachment with the RAF at the time I went to stay with my Mum for 3 months so I could work in the city. On returning to our house we had a similar sight like this as far as apples goes and some of them had fermented on the ground. We saw a rather legless blackbird on the ground who had obviously had a great time at 'happy hour' chomping on the cider apples. He was rather drunk I think for quite a while and sat there until he sobered up and flew home.
How sad, but a great shot of the buggers lol.
