Squeal Piggy Squeal

I believe that this piggies squealing days are done, along with the other 4 lined up behind it on this fence. For todays romantic outing we ventured to the other side of the tunnel I photographed yesterday and sure enough, blatant redneckery abounded.
On our travels (which was a 2 1/2 hour drive on gravel roads) we spoke to one of the locals who informed us that if we went up the driveway that he had just come out of there was a nice little valley where photo opportunities abounded. To us his delivery of the invitation to come into his valley sounded like nothing more than a classic back country ploy that would inevitably lead to nudity, sodomy and murder most foul...but at least we'd have an interesting photographic series.
I'm currently having a wine as I'm exhausted from an afternoon of worrying about the virtue of Kim's nether regions in this wild and inhospitable part of the country...I hope you're all having a fabulous weekend!

Sigh. I also have to point out that hanging pelts over fences like this is a common practice in some parts of the country to allow them to "dry out". In other parts of the country it serves as a "warning" that hunting happens nearby, so watch yourself. Kind of takes the fun away from the shot really, but there you have it.
you are completely despicable hahahahahahahahahaha - I hope both your nether regions remained safe from the mountain folk - like it a lot and that is a real worry LOL
September 13th, 2014
oh - and that is a really awesome skull
September 13th, 2014
@annied Thanks so much - later this evening there will be a full inspection of nether regions to ascertain the existence and/or extent of any damage. Now that I've said that, there probably won't be.
September 13th, 2014
.....and, this is not even one of your handiwork!! This should be printed on a T-shirt that says "They went to the other side of the tunnel, and all I got was this shirt (with pig heads)"!! I think you owe Kim one for this "romantic" outing!
September 13th, 2014
@panthora Thanks very much - we once went on a family outing to a mortuary...love the t-shirt idea as well. This is why we drink so much!
September 13th, 2014
@graemestevens will they return for the skulls or are they just a wonderfully decorative deterrent for normal folk ( the ones not like you or me ) LOL
September 13th, 2014
@annied I considered "borrowing" one of them, but I think we were being tracked...
September 13th, 2014
@graemestevens I knew it would have crossed your mind - as it would have mine - but I do think that may have been pushing the luck too far hahaha
September 13th, 2014
Oh, my! I have to show this to my boys. They'll love it! LOL! They are hoping to have their own redneck trophies to show off by the end of the weekend, as bow season for white tail deer starts Saturday morning (they are hoping to hit the woods tomorrow night after my youngest son's football game).
September 13th, 2014
Lost for words....
September 13th, 2014
Rednecks are alive and well in the Taranaki...
September 13th, 2014
Definitely would be a good still shot from a horror movie! Interesting to see the tusk bone! Great pov as well!
September 13th, 2014
@annied I tend to agree...pretty sure "they" were in the trees watching...
@homeschoolmom LOL, boys! Hope they have a good weekend though!
@newbank They're just hanging on the fence...
@julzmaioro Oh yes, you better believe it...not a cafe for miles ;)
@creativefool Thanks very much indeed, glad you like it :)
September 13th, 2014
@graemestevens probably - and when you here maniacal laughter you know you're in trouble
September 13th, 2014
@annied I'm always in trouble to some degree, and it's usually accompanied by maniacal laughter as well...I could always just hit them over the head with my handbag...
September 13th, 2014
@graemestevens if it is as heavy and full of crap as mine - although not really a handbag - rather a large computer satchel full of heavy shit - but a good weapon - and I think it is your laughter I can hear HAHAHAHAHA
September 13th, 2014
@annied I think you might be right - I have a vision of you dragging it down the street like some sort of bag lady...
September 13th, 2014
@graemestevens right you are hahahahaha
September 13th, 2014
I showed it to my daughter (mentioned in previous posts) .. apparently 'that man needs help'! Prefer this to the sheep but again I find myself lost for words ..
September 13th, 2014
Looks like some good -ol NZ hospitality. Perhaps you should move overseas?
September 13th, 2014
@motherjane LOL, why do I need help? I didn't do this one!
@888rachel Nothing wrong with pork for Sunday lunch...
September 13th, 2014
@graemestevens Absolutely right! But I don't think I'd put the carcass on my fence.
September 13th, 2014
Blimey the lengths you go to..
September 13th, 2014
Totally and utterly gruesome is all I can come up with :)
September 13th, 2014
@888rachel Absolutely agree!
@lorrainelouise We just went for a drive - these were already on the fence when we got there!
@hermann Yep, those farmers are a weird bunch...
September 13th, 2014
So...don't know what to say about your trip, just let me say that i won't go there..... it reminds me Steven King books.... but in one way I love it..i like to thrill...fav !
September 13th, 2014
@cocobella Thanks very much indeed :)
September 13th, 2014
My boys would love this shot….
September 13th, 2014
@dide Thanks very much - quite like it myself ;)
September 13th, 2014
@annied well yes, usually.
September 13th, 2014
@graemestevens and modest too - such virtues
September 13th, 2014
@annied I am a paragon of virtue and modesty.
September 13th, 2014
@graemestevens and it is therefore an honour to know you
September 13th, 2014
What can I say, I'm in a state of shock!
September 13th, 2014
@annied Pfft, in the words of the Tui Ale advertising campaign, "Yeah, Right." ;)
@ceilidh LOL, it's those pesky farmers what did it!
September 13th, 2014
@graemestevens LOL HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
September 13th, 2014
This is an example when your words are more outrageous than the picture & that's bad enough ha ha! I pity your poor wife featured in this write up...she must be a long suffering girl to put up with you.....I am lost for words too!!
A slightly more extreme case of us UK farmers hanging dead moles along our fences!!
Keep it coming!!
September 13th, 2014
@happypat My lovely wife is tolerant, understanding and extremely adaptable. Through necessity more than anything else...and thanks very much! :)
September 13th, 2014
I'm glad I took the trouble to read the narrative... when I first saw the thumbnail, I thought it was another selfie ;-)
September 13th, 2014
how very Game of thrones!
September 13th, 2014
Lord of the Flies!!! Fave, of course! :)
September 13th, 2014
Great capture.
September 13th, 2014
A very unique shot... actually, your focus is excellent. I can see every hair, tooth and tusk! Dark processing, for dark business, very nice.
September 13th, 2014
Well captured, Graeme. I would think twice about not going further.
September 13th, 2014
That's just awesome!
September 13th, 2014
@vignouse LOL, if I had teeth like I dare say my dentist would think twice about the brutally he subjects me too on a regular basis!
@brigette I guess it is a little...I don't know that they can read out here though...
@juliedduncan Thanks very much :)
@maishanny Thank you very much :)
@rosiekerr Thanks very much indeed :)
@bigugly Thanks very much. There's a rather large, firmly worded No Trespassing sign just out of shot...so yeah, we stayed this side of the fence...
@tatopaz Why thank you young lady, much appreciated.
September 13th, 2014
sounds like the wild west...love it
September 13th, 2014
@tellefella Thanks very much - we were conspicuous for not having horses...
September 13th, 2014
This is such an intriguing shot, I just have to go back each time and look at it. The dark processing is great!
September 13th, 2014
@overalvandaan Thanks very much :)
September 13th, 2014
I didn't see anything about best viewed on black, but I viewed it that way anyway! Very grotesque. Nice way to spend a romantic outing.
September 13th, 2014
@bill_fe Thanks very much - I'm an old romantic at heart...
September 13th, 2014
Sam
I'm so happy that the teeth are so white. That's important in today's world - to have such bleached white teeth :)
September 14th, 2014
@gigiflower Dental hygiene is extremely important I think. I don't know that they floss anymore, but at least they're making an effort.
September 14th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens It's a shame that they don't floss. It's very good for your teeth. Imagine the rope they would have to use as floss!
September 14th, 2014
@gigiflower Out in this part of the country I'm pretty sure they'd just try to shoot the plaque out!
September 14th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens Do people have jobs out in that part of the country?
September 14th, 2014
@gigiflower There's nothing but sheep farmin', huntin' and being a rootin' tootin' back block man in this part of the country. I'm reasonably certain that out here even the ladies are men folk.
September 14th, 2014
Sam
@graemestevens Oh I'm guessing that "ladies" from Priscilla, Queen of the Desert" would not be so welcome here ;)
September 14th, 2014
Wow! I am actually surprised that this was on the other side of the tunnel. It seems so cliche! I mean, I almost thought that there would be an immaculate mansion with beautiful rolling hill and white horse galloping about. Kudos for your bravery! Also, I will go on the record of saying, "Neat Shot!", because, well, it is.
September 14th, 2014
So in America the invitation might bring to mind dueling banjos and the movie Deliverance ;) - glad it really was an honest invitation to an area with great photographic opportunities....
September 14th, 2014
I could've done without that vision just before trundling off to bed. Glad you and the Mrs made it out in tact.
September 14th, 2014
@eyeamlisa It is a bit of a cliche...we should have known. And thanks very much :)
@deak68 We're very glad of that too!!!
@voiceprintz Sorry about that...or am I?
@gigiflower I love that movie, but I'm guessing that you're quite right.
September 14th, 2014
you do find the most amazing photo-opportunities
September 14th, 2014
@shannejw It was a surprise for us as well, and thanks
September 14th, 2014
Sem
awesome shot, looks great in b&w
September 14th, 2014
@semjaja Thanks very much :)
September 14th, 2014
interesting shot....bet it felt like xmas for you
love your saying "blatant redneckery abounded"
September 16th, 2014
@livvy Thanks very much - I had a blast :)
September 16th, 2014
Fantastic capture :D love the contrast and the feel in this
September 16th, 2014
@amyleewinfield Thanks very much :)
September 17th, 2014
Cool shot and explanation!
September 17th, 2014
@harbie Thanks very much, on both counts
September 17th, 2014
There is something fabulously grotesque about this image. I quite like it in B/W.
September 18th, 2014
Disturbing imagery...
September 25th, 2014
@eyesofbetsie Thank you very much :)
@bankmann Just an average day in the country..
