The Hunt is on. by graemestevens

The Hunt is on.

After much soul searching, question asking and general chaos in my work life I have reached a momentous decision and decided that now, regardless of the time of year, would be a good time to start looking for another "occupational opportunity" - preferably something that I can finally be passionate about and enjoy as much as I enjoy wine, chocolate and steak. With that in mind I have begun the search. If there is anything out there I will find it, I will have it and I will enjoy leaving my present employer.
Good luck my friend. There's nothing worse than a job where you are unhappy. I can always provide a reference to show your amazing stability!!!!
December 2nd, 2014
I love this idea Graeme but I'm afraid that beyond chocolate wine and steak there may be nothing else let me know if there is contact from outer space.....
December 2nd, 2014
I understand! In my own search, I found photography. And on this page I found a great artist! I really love (I REALLY LOVE) your last 3 shots.
December 2nd, 2014
Just start for yourself, you're your own boss then :-) Good luck!
Great shot, as usual.
December 2nd, 2014
@daneau Thank you so much - very much appreciated :)
@denisefuller You may be right, but whatever is out there I will find it...and in the meantime gorge myself on my favourite 3 food groups!
@ceilidh Thank you kindly - what is this "stability" thing of which you speak?
December 2nd, 2014
Hey, I love wine, chocolate and steak, too. Is there a career where I can indulge in that? Love what you did here. A fav! Super on black.

Today I was thinking I should be an accident photographer or a undercover agent or a mystery shopper or a professional 365er.
December 2nd, 2014
@overalvandaan Thanks very much indeed :)
@amandal I like the idea of a being both a Professional 365er and an Undercover Agent...I'd have to change my name to something more suitable though...and thank you so much, as always :)
December 2nd, 2014
i like this series of high key shots too. Wine, chocolate and steak is a good starting spot for new careeer.....I am shooting for professional couch potato myself.
December 2nd, 2014
@livvy Thank you very much - I couch potato in my spare time (with the support of wine and chocolate of course) :)
December 2nd, 2014
Wishing you the best. Hope you find something soon and more to your tastes.
December 2nd, 2014
Great composition! I often say the same thing myself! Hope your current boss doesn't read this! :o)
December 2nd, 2014
@graemestevens @amandal I don't do wine. I only do steak in pies with gravy. I seriously over do chocolate daily. Do I meet pro 365 status?
December 2nd, 2014
@newbank I whine a lot;-). I lived in CA and got into wine there. Now I live near the bourbon trail, but for the most part, I'll pass on whiskey. Started out with light and fruity and now like most any. I got into beer in the past year or so, too, but still prefer the fruity kind. Wish being a pro 365er paid better, though.
December 2nd, 2014
@newbank More than meet the profile I would think - I love a good pie too ;) And thank you very much :)
@orangecrush Now there's a point...if he does I'll ask him for a reference :) And thank you very much
December 2nd, 2014
Love this image. And the previous two.
Good luck with the search! As a college student, I spend most of my time soul searching and question asking.
December 2nd, 2014
Ya know...If all of your job searching is done via the method pictured, you may want to broaden the search. While you may hear from alien civilizations, how do you know they have chocolate, wine, and steak? (Two of which are also my fave food groups, btw!) Just sayin', my friend.
December 2nd, 2014
Good luck. Love the photo :)
December 2nd, 2014
Slacking with my commenting tonight but loving your last two posts .....fabulous minimalistic images .....somewhere out there is a job just perfect for you so good luck. Grave digging comes to mind!!
December 2nd, 2014
Working a job you hate really stinks. Good luck with your job search. Praying you find the perfect job.
December 2nd, 2014
go you!!!!!
December 2nd, 2014
December 2nd, 2014
great photo - good luck
December 2nd, 2014
:D ha!! fantastic capture x love your work, you really have a talent
December 2nd, 2014
Great news (good luck) and great photo...but...ummm....I might not include some of your portraits with your C.V.....something about people not always being understanding...unless of course you're looking in the creative fields like photography then by all means go for it. ;)
December 2nd, 2014
My husband feels the same way. Fantastic shot by the way!
December 2nd, 2014
maybe a satellite dish installer, great shot loving the negative space. hope you find something
December 2nd, 2014
@pinkpaintpot Thanks very much...I'm not too keen on heights though ;)
@ukandie1 I feel for him, and thank you :)
@deak68 They'll understand when I start hitting them over the head with my satellite dish ;) And thanks very much :)
@amyleewinfield Thank you very much, too kind
@lorrainelouise Thank you very much, on both counts...
@kali66 I'll go all right!!!
@homeschoolmom Thanks very much - I'm sure it's out there somewhere!
@happypat Thanks very much - If I started a job as grave digger I'd only get fired for theft ;)
@mamamayerle Thanks very much on both counts :)
@voiceprintz You have a valid point, but I work for a bunch of freaks now so what difference would aliens make...although I'm not too sure about all the probing
December 3rd, 2014
@ludgate Thank you very much indeed :)
December 3rd, 2014
@graemestevens oh drat! you don't have to look down. Father Christmas then?
December 3rd, 2014
@pinkpaintpot Why not...it's a well known fact that I'm full to overflowing with Christmas spirit...
December 3rd, 2014
Restaurant critic ?? Actually my friend is the chocolate taster for the company that supplies the chocolates to M&S and before that she was the wine & cider taster for a local brewery - these jobs exist ha ha - seriously good luck on your job hunt
December 3rd, 2014
@graemestevens already! Oh that sort of spirit. Hehe!
December 3rd, 2014
I wish you the very best Graham! I know what it's like to work in the job that is not satisfying to you! I have done this, I have been there, don't ever want to go there again.
December 3rd, 2014
I love you minimalist look!
December 3rd, 2014
@scolgs Thanks very much indeed - I think if I was a taster of any sort I'd be the size of Texas inside a week!
@pinkpaintpot I'm not a fan of Christmas...I probably shouldn't get started on why not...
@janiskay Thanks very much - it'll be out there somewhere!
December 3rd, 2014
@janiskay Thanks very much ;)
December 3rd, 2014
all the best on your quest! good for you for recognizing that your current situation isn't right for you... not everyone is able to do this! loving your minimalist work, btw!
December 3rd, 2014
@graemestevens Good thinking Graeme, with such excellent taste in consumables, dogs and hobbies you deserve to have something top-notch appear from the blue. I know exactly what you're feeling. I used to love my work until the bean-counting culture took over, then I grew steadily less enamoured. The day I drove in the gate completely dreading the new academic year, I knew it was time to get outta there.
December 3rd, 2014
@graemestevens PS As usual, I just love the shot you've posted today. But I think you should check where the best steak, wine and chocolate is to be found before accepting any offers.
December 3rd, 2014
Awesome shot. Good luck, it is a big decision. I caught up with some old work mates last night, we were discussing creative ways to quit a job. I'm sure you will have some creative ways too.
December 3rd, 2014
Haha, great shot! With that dish, you could seek alien employment also.
December 3rd, 2014
Sam
Do you think we could swap our jobs? I'm thinking not given I don't even have a mini bar in this hotel room. And there is no kettle. Or iron. So wrong.
December 3rd, 2014
Really? no probing? with all your other eccentricities, I'm surprised. Can it really be any worse than taking up the *gentle cough* as you are in your current situation? again, just sayin'!
December 3rd, 2014
Best of luck to you, Graeme! I know you'll find it! Especially if you use that thingy! :)
December 3rd, 2014
@northy Thanks very much - tried inverting but just couldn't get it to work. Yet.
@golftragic Thanks very much - not happy = time to move on!
@karlow75 Thanks very much - I've already started compiling a list of the best ways to quit ;)
@888rachel Thanks very much - I'm sure there's a probing job going somewhere...
@gigiflower You're making an excellent case for a swap but I'm afraid I'll have to turn you down...
@voiceprintz Another vaild point but I haven't quite "assumed the position" yet - if all goes according to plan I should be out shortly after Christmas...things are lurking on the horizon for me
@juliedduncan You leave my thingy out of this! ;) And thank you very much ;)
December 3rd, 2014
Excellent photo. I sincerely hope you find what you need...
December 3rd, 2014
@graemestevens Absolutely!! In my case I was old enough to retire. I was well down the road to the funny farm by then, so I really had to get out. A university run like a corporate business does not create a climate for fruitful intellectual endeavours - unless you happen to teach accounting or the like that's directly applicable to biz.
December 3rd, 2014
Haha, I so identify with this. I am presently looking for my next thing and will find it! Love your photo. Awesome shot and story, Graeme. Fav!
December 3rd, 2014
@kt8ird Thank you very much :)
@golftragic In my case I find it extremely difficult to have any form of passion or interest in what I'm doing!
@susanalena Thank you very much and good luck!
December 3rd, 2014
That was me 12 months ago, I fortunately was at an age where I could retire. No more could I spread the love with my career, just burnt out big time. In a much nicer space now. Good luck with the prerequisitesNice image BTW :)
December 3rd, 2014
You know... I felt this coming about 2 months ago. Good luck with finding a revenue stream to supply your likings. You are highly creative, so I am feeling optimistic for you. :) On the photography side, this is a delicious use of negative space and theme.
December 3rd, 2014
@hermann Thanks very much - there will be something...I used to have it in the UK but it's not here...I'll get it back :)
@rosiekerr Thanks very much - it takes me a while to make a decision (for some reason) but I feel much happier now that it's made :)
December 3rd, 2014
@graemestevens Definitely time to plant some more roses to smell every day.
December 3rd, 2014
Such a super shot Graeme!
December 3rd, 2014
Good luck to you! Fantastic shot!
December 3rd, 2014

Great set of images, I'll fav this one cause I'm too lazy to go back
December 3rd, 2014
I am not sure any job could be as great as wine, chocolate, and steak!! Change is good, good for you for deciding to make one. Life is short. Cool picture as well, I have no idea how you make that white background!
December 3rd, 2014
Good luck! I'm doing the same thing myself, though my currant boss is ME!
December 3rd, 2014
A neat shot - hope you can find something that is as much fun as wine, chocolate and steak!
December 3rd, 2014
Excellent shot! Good luck on the job search! Life is always better when you love what you do! I love my job more than wine and steak but not quite as much as chocolate! ;)!
December 3rd, 2014
wine chocolate and steak oh yeh - please don't forget coffee hahahahaha - you make me laugh
December 3rd, 2014
@kevin365 Thanks very much - I'm too lazy to type anything else ;)
@jess1204 Thanks very much - this one was easier than yesterdays. I'm sure theres an easier way than the way I chose as well but I have no idea how...
@dide Thanks you and so do I!!!
@harbie Thanks very much - that's what I'm looking for!
@annied I could never forget coffee...I just didn't mention it as it's a given. I was watching a documentary the other night set in Italy where they visited a cafe that serves a variety of 170 different sorts of coffee!!!
December 3rd, 2014
VERY impressive! so creative. FAV
December 3rd, 2014
@andrewkru Thanks very much, and I get excellent reception too...
December 3rd, 2014
@graemestevens ooh I like the sound of that
December 3rd, 2014
@annied I could spends days and years in there - all sorts of bizarre flavour mixes that just seemed to work...basil, rosemary, mint, tapioca...truly strange...
December 3rd, 2014
Good for you and good luck with the hunt! I am currently in a middle of changing a work place, so I can relate. I hope you will find a place you´ll be happy with
December 3rd, 2014
Great capture!
December 3rd, 2014
@graemestevens mmmmmm some could be extraordinarily delicious - and others not so much hahahahaha
December 3rd, 2014

December 3rd, 2014
Good luck.
December 3rd, 2014
@graemestevens common sense, clear head, unruffled, taking a firm position, sane

@ceilidh Hmmm...not sure about any of that ;)
@deliad Thank you very much :)
@lan Thank you very much :)
@susale Thanks and likewise :)
@annied Agreed, but what fun to find out...as for the other, it's extendable...
December 3rd, 2014
@graemestevens it would and I thought so
December 3rd, 2014
I hope your wishes come true very soon. Love your minimalistic image.
December 3rd, 2014
