9.20 am: The first day of spring!
I always commute to work by train. As I hardly ever have to travel during rush hour this is usually a pleasant experience. Both of these trains are about to depart to The Hague. The one on the left to Central Station and the one on the right to Hollands Spoor continuing on to Rotterdam.
@caatjeg Dank! Ik had een serietje van een foto of vijf gemaakt maar op deze vond ik de lijnen het sterkst. @geertje Ja, dit is Leiden CS! Ik vind stations heerlijke plekken om te fotograferen. Treinen, sporen en bovenleidingen zijn zo fotogeniek :)
@haagjes Ha, die vond ik ook zo leuk Het is geen wolk trouwens maar rook uit een schoorsteen van een bijgebouw van het LUMC die altijd een dergelijke rookpluim uitstoot (crematorium? verwarmingsinstallatie?). De schoorsteen valt helaas weg achter die paal op het perron.
@flygirl Thanks! In a matter of weeks you will be travelling on a similar one! Or will you rent a car for your stay here? (given the places you want to travel to I'd definitely advise travelling by train).
@lislee75 That's what I like about commuting by train: it gives you the chance to read a newspaper or photograph out of the windows :)

We will be traveling by train. We never rent a car, we go public transit all the way. In fact that is what my job is. I work for the City over seeing our public transit. ...and yes we leave in just over one week. we are excited!

@sparkle Me too! I remember when they were introduced in the Netherlands. I sat on the top floor for years just because I could :)
@shantwin Buses have their own appeal but I definitely prefer trains for commuting - so much faster.
