Acoma Pottery by harbie

Acoma Pottery

This pottery piece was made by the Pueblo Native Americans of Acoma Pueblo also known as Sky City. Acoma Pueblo was built on a sheer walled 367 foot sandstone cliff in New Mexico. It is the oldest continuously inhabited community in North America (1150 AD). There are 25 divisions or Pueblos many of which make and paint pottery unique to that specific pueblo. I like the colour and the abstract pattern of this. I have heard about their settlement but didn't know that it was still inhabited and that there are so many tribal divisions. That's what I like about 365, you see great photography and learn so much

The shapes and designs are simply beautiful, a nice work of art. You did a good job of lighting up the entire piece.
