How Deep? by harbie

How Deep?

My husband, Larry, has his trekking pole down into the snow to show how deep it is. In some places when we were snowshoeing, the snow was 6 inches deep while in other places (like here) it was 4 feet deep. Once or twice (maybe even 3 times), we fell into deep snow and couldn't get up without help! Made us laugh at each other. Best on black where the snow stands out.
How beautiful the snow is, we don't get it here. Love how it's such a sunny day to show off the snow, you and your husband must be very fit!

Wow that is a lot of snow.
What month (usually) do you stop having snowfalls like this?

@dizzyd @kelly2 @dizzyd. We live in the foothills so we don't get as much snow as in the mountains. We can get large snowfalls but the snow does not usually stay on the ground for more than a week. Most of our snow is in the spring (March) and it can snow up until May. We do get lots of breaks of nice weather all winter and spring though. This is in the mountains at 10,500 ft (we live at 7,000 ft above sea level) so there is more snow and it stays much longer. I like that we can drive to the snow when we want to do snow activities, but don't have as much snow! Thanks so much!!

@harbie Thanks for all that info Harbie. Your part of the world is so different to mine here in UK & it's great to see the vast difference in images in our daily/weekly photo's on this site.
