I'm sure a lot of people grow up thinking that their Dad is a hero and I am no exception. I just don't think I ever fully appreciated what the word "hero" meant. My Dad was and is the consummate soldier. He follows orders well, he stays cool under pressure and he always, always made taking care of us look so effortless. On this Veteran's Day I want to salute my father as well as all the troops who serve and have served this country to keep us safe and free. It is not an easy job and a lot of people wouldn't dream of doing it. My father was in the Army for over twenty years and served two tours in Vietnam. Somehow he even made that seem easy... He would not agree with me, but I think he is a hero by any definition. Thank you Dad, and thank you to all who have served. I will always be eternally grateful...
