Juno Beach by hbdaly

Juno Beach

My oldest is becoming a bit of a WWII buff. He said awhile ago that he wanted to recreate D-Day with his army men but he needed more boats. So he recently raided the bathtub and voila! This is Juno Beach - a beach stormed by the Canadians (under command of the Brits) in 1944. I'm not sure if they actually make Canadian Army men so the Toy Story fellows will have to do.... The yellow is the beach and the egg crates are the German bunkers. My favorite are the white pieces of paper in the water. It is the splash of the German rounds exploding in the surf. As you can see, it was a tough battle!
Tell you son very well done. How old is he that he has an interest in WW!!? It seems that a lot of young people today aren't that interested in history at all.

@rayswrld Thanks Ray. He's actually only 7, but already he is one of those kids that wants to know everything! (He's the same one that made a Zeppelin for his pinewood derby car!) His father and I are both history buffs to so I guess he comes by it naturally! :) I love watching his brain in action. So much creativity!
