Day two of my self-imposed theme and already I am struggling to stay within the brief.
There was a game plan and I knew it was going to be challenging as I wanted to capture the old town hall which used to house the Tourist Information Office in St Paul's Square, before they mistakenly moved it to the new Bus station.
The building fronts onto a busy road and there is a lot of street furniture obscuring the features. It was going to be difficult to find a good angle without getting run over or getting into another building for a vantage point. I don't think the Citizens Advice Bureau would have welcomed me into their manager's office.
It rained and rained today, and when I thought there was a suitable window in the weather I walked into town but the rain recommenced. I spent some time sheltering in the doorway of the church considering my options, and then in the entrance to the magistrate's court looking for interesting features. You can see what I came up with. There was nothing of merit in the building shots whatsoever - but I think I can just about call this urban! No parking allowed, so move on quickly.
Wow, what a day you have had. I love this shot. Lots of history in these stones. It looks like autumn is just around the corner too with the leaves and seeds scattered on the ground.
This combination of yellow and gray is very nice. Beautiful texture of small and large stones, love the large portion of a sheet in the gap and the tracks of the first drops. Beautifully designed and seen!
This makes an interesting image though. Like the speckles of yellow.
