The calm before the Doris storm by helenhall

The calm before the Doris storm

The day started promisingly enough, with the sun shining brightly through the trees after a morning shower; although the strong breeze was evident and it you look carefully you can see that fallen branches were beginning to line the path.

I spent the day listening to howling winds from the second floor office, and sirens going off all around. Building materials from the block development across the car park were lifting and flying through the air. Having lunch with a friend, the A-board outside the café walked down the road before my eyes. And now, all seems relatively calm once more For us in Bedfordshire, damaged roofs, trees down, and no trains running, seems to be the extent of the problems.
Lovely composition and light.

Definitely the lull before the storm. Hope you were able to stay safe

I really like the repetition with the trees. I'm glad everything calmed down and you stayed safe. :-)

I like that you are taking us into a little world from your low POV. It also does look very calm.

Lovely and shadowy. Almost looks like spring!

There's a rhythm in the repetition of the trees that pairs very well with the title, like a crescendo.
