Short of inspiration (yes, already!) I viewed the challenges to see if I might get some help in formulating todays offering. Hovered over the 52 selfies for a while, but really? that seemed a step too far. So decided to play tag challenge and came up with two of my favourite subjects - reflections and river.
Presumptuously confident that I had only to wander the couple of hundred meters down to the river on the way back from our local butcher (another of this year's resolutions is to buy from the local butcher rather than the supermarket), to pick up my shot of the day, I started to plan how I could encompass a selfie, and looking ahead at the same time.
Ha, the river was fast flowing, the clouds obscuring the sun and all I could see was dirty khaki water. Until, that is, a meandering 40 mins walk later I came to the bridge that takes the A428 road over the river. The reflection I observed highlighted a path and brought me back round to the 'Vision' and 'looking ahead' theme that I started the week with. So here I stayed, content to take my shot and create for myself a reminder - "discipline is the bridge between goals and accomplishment".
I've just been distracted from saying how much I like this by your mention of the A428! Are you close to Cambridge? I admit that I don't know how far the A428 goes. Could be like the A6....
@kwind thank you Kim. The ugly bridge brings hidden delights. @graemestevens to be fair, it was a round trip, and brought me back round to near home. Keeps the fitbit happy too. @mona65 thank you Mona, for your visit and lovely comment. @carolmw thanks Carol, much appreciated @judithg I am in Bedford Judith. The A428 runs from Cambridge through Bedford and on to Coventry, via Northampton. @helenacharles yes, it is a good quote which I looked up to fit the image and the theme. I need to remember it too - trouble is, I'm not that disciplined. @flowerfairyann thank you Ann - what a lovely thing to say. I sometimes wonder where on earth the next picture will come from. Every time I use our local butcher I resolve to use him more -this weekend, I made it to the local fishmonger too. @haskar thank you Haskar - the image seemed to need something in the foreground which is why I introduced the graphics. @helenm2016 you are welcome! @onewing thanks Babs - I am prone to a bit of rambling, which comes more easily than the photos sometimes! @suzanne234 how lovely of you to say so. I agree that my narrative is most often a ramble and a meander. Where would I be if there was a twitter sized limit? @moonmtn it can be quite daunting when you have the same routine day by day and wonder where on earth you will get a new theme from. You always manage though! @olivetreeann thank you Ann. I am already wondering how I will cope with the new theme. @gaylewood thanks Gayle. I am glad I found the quote - just need to pay attention to it now. @stimuloog thank you so much Marloes.
So good that you were able to incorporate this shot in both the tag challenge and the 52 week challenge!
Well done!
It really is a marvelous shot to go with your wonderful narrative. Love the final quote - a great way to rekindle your inspiration!
