I am not used to seeing this expanse of open sky. This is the view from the front of Scargill house where we were staying over the weekend. Looking over the hills we were planning to climb the next day.
I thought this might fit the minimalist landscape theme. By keeping the exposure set for the sky, the foreground became a silhouette with just the evening sky colours to enjoy and the single focal point of the new moon.
This is the third consecutive weekend I have spent away, and we have a fourth coming up. Which is leaving me bereft of time and with a surfeit of photos that need editing. I wish retirement was closer!
Thank you for your patience with me - I am slowly and unsystematically getting around to viewing and commenting on your lovely projects. It is going to take me a while.
A beautiful serene shot this is, Helen! Lovely hue as well! “I wish retirement was closer” = yes yes yes and yes!!! I agree with that sentiment. It’s nice you could get away and get through those photos a bit at a time - no stress! :)
Lovely sky with lonely moon. Great minimalistic landscape.
I’ve stopped apologizing a long time ago when I wasn’t able (timewise or just not in the mood) to respond to everyone who so nicely to the effort to comment on my pics. It’s no problem. Commenting is only fun when it doesn’t feel like a burden.
I follow you. I likr your narratives and I like to see the world through your eyes. I’m gratefull for that. So now and then I comment, unregularly. But my intentions are good ;)
I also have tons of photos to handle... I try to let them mot ‘over burden’ me.😘
@helenhall Sorry for all my mistakes. My fingers are too thick for typing on my cellphone and I’m sometimes too lazy to check the dictionary for the right English spelling.
We all go through those busy times that seem like they will never end. Don't worry- 365 is not going anywhere and it will be here when you get back. Enjoy your time away and especially these lovely views! By the way this shot also qualifies for the current technique challenge which is "the Blue Hour" so tag it "technique84" too!
