Our first night gathered around the campfire, with thoughts of hygiene and toileting and how to organise tents in the dark, and it would have been easy to miss the sun going down behind the newly pitched tents as we filled our bellies with chicken and rice. But this kind of magic doesn't happen every day in the UK, so I was up and distancing myself from the meal time comradery, in order to admire the days last moments of the African sun
