Personal Space by helenhall

Personal Space

I have been finding it difficult to keep going with my photography of late. Maybe it is because I haven't signed up to any challenges this year, maybe it is lack of time, or maybe it is because I have exhausted the possibilities of my route back and forth from work.

At least on Thursday last week, I was inspired to get the camera out for this swan, enjoying some personal space under the canopy of a tree and amidst the reeds.

Thank you to all my kind followers who continue to comment and encourage and engage. Always much appreciated.
Understand what you mean - am right there with you- stuck —-I haven’t been allowed to drive for over 2mos. so I am finding it hard to find something interesting to photograph. I really like this Helen and that you chose b&w

It’s lovely in the B&W, great choice. I feel the same about exhausting all photo ops, the month challenges are keeping me interested.

Hang in there -- this is a great high contrast composition. I can relate...hoping the Beaver Island change of scenery will help for me, but am not sure as I've photographed that for years as well...

This is lovely!

this is lovely in black and white - it's not easy when you're stuck in a limited routine

Lovely bw image

A very classy strong image. I often get stuck for ideas, I have a routine of various dog walks and feel I've exhausted all aspects of them!

@samae Thats very restricting for you! I just use my imagination for some photos and you don't have to go far for that!

@taffy I'm sure we don't mind seeing more photos of your island - its all new to us!

it is a lovely photo , don't worry about loss of phojo , it is difficult to keep one;s photostream vibrant at times, no one notices or judges :)

Beautiful reflection and very effective in b/w.

I know exactly what you mean. I have struggled on occasion this year too. Hang in there, just post when you are able. Don't put any pressure on yourself. It is your project and post when you are able.

I love this photo, it works so well in black and white.

Perfect in B&W with lots of contrast.

I agree with so many above- the more you pressure yourself when the phojo is low the worse you feel about yourself as a photographer so it's best to just let it run its course. Shoot when something grabs you; post when you can. This shot is excellent- the contrast is what grabs me as the swan just seems to pop out of the scenery being so white. Well done! (When I've felt a little low this year I've gone back to pictures from the archives and had fun playing around with them in post processing. Sometimes giving yourself a little game to play is just what you need to unstop the clogged up phojo.)

love the zigzag reflection. i can relate to what you're saying. i always enjoy your images and reflective narratives, whatever you're shooting. i'm keeping going for now because i so enjoy the 365 interaction, and use shots from yesterday or the day before or whatever if i haven't managed to take one each day

Such an elegant image, especially in black and white. You composed it so well with the lilypads just there. I wish you luck with your project inspiration! I so enjoy your images and your wonderful commentaries!

I understand you feeling in a slump, I get like that with the same routine five days a week and no camera allowed at work. Don’t put pressure on yourself though, just post when you feel like it
