Tell me something...

I do not know. I think that sign probably won't change until May or June... I-80 between Cheyenne and Laramie, WY. I do believe this is right around Buford.

Taken with a Canon Powershot SX20 IS.

@icywarm Haha, wouldn't that be great? Even a simple "Hey you with out of state plates, do NOT slam on your brakes when you see a snowflake!!"

Now THAT would be an awesome message!

Well I would actually like it if some people did slow down for many snow flakes....

I once in a minor blizzard drove a bus of college cheerleaders from Saskatchewan to Vegas... the other bus driver flipped out and could not spell me, so I had to do the whole 30 hour trip myself... coming out of the mountains... there was one ok lane that had been plowed... the second lane was fully snow covered.

If someone passed you in the other lane, more a full count of 5 you could see NOTHING... it seems that despite the large number of cars in the ditch, over turned semi's and flipped pick-ups... because it was an interstate, MANY MANY people still felt 80-90 MPH was superior to the 50-60 I was driving....

Now I have driven in snow storms so bad... all the passengers needed to keep their doors open to see the lines to make sure you are still on the highway well the driver watches the tail lights of the semi in front of you... you only drive 10-15 in that kind of weather...

in conclusion... sometimes there is prudence in driving a touch slower in snowy weather...

@icywarm But slamming on your brakes isn't the answer... People (usually out of state plates) cause massive wrecks around here because they'll slam on their brakes when they see snow/ice, or poor visibility. Drive prudent, but not like a freaking paranoid retard. Slamming on brakes in winter weather is not prudent... it's stupidity.

Nice shot Heidi - some of my in-laws from New Orleans called us last year when they had a quarter inch of snow. They wanted to know how we drove in it because it was "so slippery", and they all stayed home from work. Next time I get that call I'll refer them to this shot.

@hmgphotos ah yes... I didn't key in on the "slamming on" I took it for granted that no one would think you can stop on ice quickly... in hind site... a very poor assumption!
