dry land

This photo was taken some time back in outback New South Wales. Here in Queensland some of the area way north of here are experiencing some huge rain and flooding. Townsville which has experienced flooding and mud slides is expecting a further 8 inches today. Reminding me of Dorothea McKellar's poem: I love a sunburnt country, a land of sweeping plains, of ragged mountain ranges, of droughts and flooding rains.
That does look a bit grim .. not alot of feed there for any beasties .. Pity the rain can't get shared out a bit better ..

A great shot and a wonderful poem. Our country looks very similar but alas no rain in sight.

A lot different of our country now. Although we`ve got one of the driest summers ever. The harvest was moderate. Great capture of the dry soil and branch
