So the resonators were hung in the frame Saturday night. On Sunday Nadya had to drill holes in the bars. A neighbor had a great drill for that. It took her a couple of hours to drill 104 holes (52 in total - don't count these - these are only the neutrals). Sometimes a little splinter came off so she had to lightly sand and sometimes stain the hole. Then it was time to string the bars onto the frame. At 11 pm Sunday night it was done and she played her first song on her own marimba
Took me some time to look it up @stephanies, but it was Sonatine in C Major by Muzio Clementi. She played that for a solo contest 2 years ago and last year a friend took that piece, so she knew it quite well.
Now she is playing the whole marching show and pieces for region band auditions. Although it isn't tuned properly, I'm very happy to hear that she is using it and it is a nice soft sound too.
