Continuing on the Wednesday Walk we have now almost arrived in the partly abandoned village. The wall is part of the old falaj. This part of the water channel was built many hundreds of years ago. The stairs, now broken, were used to access the falaj for maintenance.
The new falaj (still a few hundred years old) is not visible in this picture.
I was surprised that the sky turned so dark when transferred into B&W. In the color version it was bright blue, but it makes sense because the color of the surroundings are a lot lighter.
Beautiful shot, how neat they make those stairs up the mountain. That what I find difficult when converting to black and white, your sky look smooth but indeed dark :).
