It seems to be mostly males in my garden... We had a swim meet this morning and now it looks like it might rain. So I had a quick walk in the backyard and found this brown anole.
First he was hiding, but then he came out and showed his dewlap.
Sorry boy, I'm a female but the wrong species.
Maybe the ladies are shy because he is molting. Google tells me that they molt in small pieces and there is some stuck to his nose.
Oh and the pink in the background is from the big crepe myrtle tree which suddenly is full of color!
