This is the peloton on the Tour of Britain cycle race at the top of the 400 metre climb from Ambleside, known as The Struggle.
The road was closed early so we walked up to find a vantage point near the top of the hill. The weather was far from perfect, it was raining and the cloud was so low we could hardly see the cyclists coming up the hill! But at least they were going so slowly we were able to get a good look at them. Not a great day for photos but I liked this one after a bit of editing in Colour Efex.
Despite the weather the atmosphere was great, there was a big crowd of people who were all cheering and ringing cow bells.
We waited a while to see Bradley Wiggins, he was one of the last to go through and got the biggest cheer of the day.
