@laroque I hadn't even noticed the sign! A nice addition, John! I was noticing all the creases and wrinkles in the clothes. I know mine get that way often enough. The sight of all of them en masse just struck me.
My curiosity got the better of me and I did a web search on Galway Hooker. I learned about the boats and the beer from the ultimate source on everything (ha!) -- Wikipedia. Just skimmed the articles. And found the Galway Hooker Brewery is celebrating its 10th anniversary -- their big Birthday Bash is TOMORROW, the 14th of July with a special anniversary brew available only on draught on the night. So, heads up all you beer drinkers near Galway (neither of which I am) And just think, if I hadn't seen this great street photography of yours, John, I would have gone on with my dull life never knowing about Galway Hooker beer.
Nice lineup at the Galway International Arts Festival also, I see. Coincidentally, I went to lunch with some professors I used to work with when I worked in the English Department here. The guest of honor was in town, having moved away several years ago, and celebrating her birthday today. She did two different sabbatical years in Galway. I do now wish I could give her a bottle of Galway Hooker beer.
@mcsiegle how interesting, tomorrow is also my 55th birthday so I may try a hooked or two,and on the 15th we go see Elvis Costello as part of the Arts Festival, I like to be whisked away to another place by something I see on here, so glad I took you to Galway Mary.
It's a fantastic photo and I did not notice the hooker sign either. I hope you have an awesome birthday celebration John. All the best to you in this new year!
