The property this barn is on has been for sale for years. Sometimes one is lucky enough to see barn owls here but the gate is now locked and padlocked with barbed wire on top so I was not able to check for them (when we went to look at the property previously, several flew out and landed on top of the barn but I was sans camera). I messed with the color a bit - a cold grey day with snow in the pasture.
Love the muted colors on this, definitely an appropriate mood for an old barn. Not a huge fan of the post in the foreground. It just seems to distract a from the subject a bit, but that may just be personal preference for me. I'm definitely no expert ;) Lovely photo overall though.
@futbolinq Thanks for the great feedback, Lisa. I really struggled with that fence post. There were bigger ones to each side and a lot of trees so I had a sneak peek kind of view. I wanted to get inside the gate - but lots of no trespassing signs, a deep ditch and barbed wire prevented me from getting closer as well as some rather huge footprints in the snow - LOL. If I ever figure out how to use editing software, I may remove it. @paul2782 - thanks Paul! @groovygirlrn - thanks Sheri @dauber - thank you!

Maybe even if it was just a bit shorter? Still a great shot over all though. I think you did an excellent job with the coloring and composition of the barn.
@futbolinq Thankyou. I wanted to get the gate in, too. I have some other shots of the barn with not so much of the fence post but they are not as good. Maybe I can lop the top off it. :-)
It does have that grey day feeling. And it feels like something will happen soon, sort of like it is waiting. Maybe for the owls to fly? You were good at catching the mood.
@sansjuan Thanks Nita. We really like the property it sits on - it's out in the middle of nowhere but not at all spooky - it has a nice feel to it. I hope a family buys it and loves it and that is what it is waiting for. :-) @joannbayne and @cathrinemitch - thank you both. @chard Richard I agree - thanks for the feedback. I am learning so much from this project.
