63/365: La ciudad en movimiento / City in movement

During daylight hours the city is always full of people coming and going. No matter what season of year it is. This is a privileged point of view from office, just in the heart of Barcelona.
Great photo. Perfect in black and white

Great composition...well timed with the placement of the people and I love where you placed the static elements of your shot.

I like this very much - but maybe a slightly slower shutter speed would have shown the movement even more.

@claresfp thank you very much

@tasian Thank you very much. It was the main idea when I toke the photo, to separate street forniture from people :)

@jocasta Thank you very much. I agree with you. Maybe a bit less of shutter speed may given more dynamism to the photo, blurring walking people, increasing the sense of motion.

I could see the slower shutter point but I actually like them frozen in time...it reminds me of chess pieces and adds to the graphic quality of this shot. Really nice.

I like the balance of the people as well as the textures. I also think the idea of slower shutter speed would be fun to try.

@luckygirl thank very much. Off course I agree with you. It is another interpretation as everybody of us have different POV :)

@taffy thank very much. By the other side working with low shutter speeds require to have a steady / firm hand to hold the camera. ;)

@cazla @moxy thank you very much for your comments

though not quite a pristine framing, i feel (aesthetically speaking), the angle of viewing is quite evocative, and the subject study of how each person moves informs us into a bit of who and how they might be, where they might be going. the monochromatic exposure serves to help us focus on the humanistic components of this scene...the architecture reflecting our societal goals, and each unique individuals participation in the pattern.

@ubiquitybutsomewhatdownsized Thank for your honest review. Try to poke your head out the balcony of a neoclassical building, 5 minutes before a meeting. Trying to imitate a photograph of a book from Michael Langford that you readed years ago. Of course, this is no excuse for neglecting the basics;)

@jborrases well, one slight for such an exploratory capture seems worth it. i find myself mesmerized with patterns and creative depictions of them (here contrasting the people, but not the peoples motives).
