I didn't take any photos on Nov.15, so this is from the day before. It is a good representation what we did on the 15th though...lots of time in the classroom identifying individual polar bears from our photos. Dr. Jane Waterman from the University of Manitoba is studying polar bear behaviour and has started a photo database to ID and keep track of different bears. Whisker spot patterns and facial scars are unique to each bear and is what we were trying to capture in our photos. This method is also used for ID'ing lions.
