The Balmaceda Glacier is in the huge Bernardo O'Higgins National Park which is so isolated that it can only be accessed by boat. As recently as 1981 the glacier reached sea level but you can just see that it has melted quite considerably. This was much more obvious when we motored closer, but I had rain on the lens by then!
