We disembarked in Puerto Montt in time to catch a morning bus to Chiloe. On the west coast, it is the second largest island in Chile. It has 17 UNESCO protected wooden churches, including this one in Castro. The outside is clad in metal shingles, and someone made the strange decision to paint it buttercup yellow with mauve towers and picked out the detail in a sort of deep puce colour!
