The historic village of North Scituate contains many mid-to-late 19th century buildings along Danielson Pike. One of them, at the corner of Danielson Pike and Rte 116 is home to the Village Bean, a local deli that offers quite a variety of breakfast and lunch items as well as some excellent baked goods. When I set out to photograph this deli, I had the front door and swinging sign in mind. Parking behind the building, however, I noticed this really interesting well and the old style Deli sign on the back wall. Because of the setting, I opted to go black and white with the image. Perhaps in mid spring or late fall when there's some color on the tree we'll revisit the location for a more contemporary shot.
Post processing started out with a photo pop filter in Topaz Adjust. I then used Color Color to enrich the saturation a bit. A black and white gradient map was then applied, and a levels adjustment was added for contrast. The final touch was a traditional sepia filter.
Ron,
thanks for the comment on my project. I really appreciate it. This is a great photo here, it reminds me of a day out I had with my aunt last year in a small town in Ohio we visited. Beautiful shot. Looking forward to seeing more!
