Photographers often talk about "The Golden Hour;" that magical time of day when the rising or setting sun gives everything a beautiful, soft, golden glow. Capturing the golden hour when you have a full time job that doesn't include photography can be a bit challenging, however. This morning on my way into work, all the stars aligned for just such a shot. The air was still, producing this glassy appearance in the Seekonk River. The light striking the boats and docks was perfect. The reflections in the river were brilliant and well defined. The setting and lighting were ideal for a beautiful shot. I can rarely resist shooting good reflections anyway, but that golden glow sealed the deal.
Post processing started with a brilliant warm filter in Topaz Adjust. In PSE, I adjusted the levels slightly and applied a warm gradient map. The goal in the post processing was to preserve the original feel of the scene to the greatest extent possible.
